Meditation for Positivity
Being a positive person is much easier with meditation as the practice is very effective at managing negative patterns of anxiety, self-doubt, anger, jealousy, and other harmful states. With a more calm and centred mind, a meditation student has the mental clarity to find more joy and gratitude in their life.

The problem
Positive thinking is far better for us, but it can cause an internal struggle if we try to force it upon ourselves.
We can find ourselves suspended in a false reality; wearing a mask that actually proves a stress in itself.

How it affects you
All of the stimulation we receive in our busy modern lives creates a level of excitation in the nervous system that results in a lot of thinking or ideation. It also over-stimulates the ‘fight or flight’ branch of the nervous system and something called the amygdala, which results in anxiety and nervousness.
In addition, the prefrontal cortex of the brain is skewed under stress; becoming more defensive, sad and negative thinking.
Our energy supplies are zapped. And it’s no wonder when we’re feeling tired, overworked and under-pressure that we’re less able to appreciate ourselves and the world around us.

How can Beeja meditation help?
Rather than straining to think positive, we’re going to feel so much better if our positivity come naturally from within.
By meditating with Beeja it is possible to not only feel amazing but spread the love as we radiate good vibes.
When we meditate, physiological and neurological changes take place that return us to a natural state of inner harmony. The by-product of many of these processes is a completely spontaneous boost of positivity.
The overactive ‘fight or flight’ response shuts down, so our thoughts are no longer processed through negative filters. Our prefrontal cortex fully functions again.
As a result, our thinking naturally becomes much more balanced and positive.
The greater activity in the prefrontal cortex also makes us much more creative, and inspired with ideas for how to live our life.
Meditation allows our body to rest at such a deep level (up to five times deeper than the deepest point in sleep), we have far more energy to turn our great ideas into reality.
At a neurochemical level, we have far fewer stress hormones racing around our system and far more endorphins, making it much easier to keep on smiling, whatever the weather.
We have much greater homeostatic balance within the body, which means we can regulate ourselves correctly without constant interruption from internal distress signals.
We tend to feel far more connected to people and nature, giving us more of a sense of place.
We are free to notice the positive aspects of people and things. Our greater ability to understand and empathise means we are much more forgiving of people’s unwitting errors of judgement.
When we access our true self, we feel energised and inspired are able to encourage the same in other people. There really is power in positive thinking!

"There are loads of people around me who are asking why I am so positive and chilled out lately, and I find myself recommending Will’s technique to everyone who asks.”
“About five people have come up to me today to ask me if I’d been on holiday as I look like I am glowing (apparently!). I woke up at 6.30 am this morning to do my first meditation of the day. I NEVER wake up at 6.30 am for anything other than skiing. But I got up, pottered around for a bit and did my first meditation. Came into work this morning (I was early for the first time in seven years) feeling happy and positive.”

“Keep your thoughts positive because your thoughts become your words. Keep your words positive because your words become your behaviour. Keep your behaviours positive, because your behaviours become your habits. Keep your habits positive because your habits become your values. Keep your values positive because your values become your destiny.”
